Modernity and technology celebrate the Belle Epoque
The 100 year old Grand Hotel Europa in Innsbruck, besides being the only 5-star hotel in the Austrian city, is a historic institution.
The key characteristic of the project for renovating and modernizing the interior, plus the addition of an extension, was to combine the splendour and sophistication of the Belle Epoque with modern-day comfort.
The relationship between the hotel and the city is underlined by the large windows in the hall: to screen the
light, the architect Raniero Botti designed large electric roller blinds, which Artendis then developed using a special striped filtering fabric with aluminium fibres in the warp to reflect the sunrays.
In the rooms, the elegant velvet and jacquard fabrics, made in Italy, blends with the practicality of the remote control.
